       /proc/22261/oom_adj is deprecated, please use /proc/22261/oom_score_adj instead.

This actually happened in natty. oom_score_adj was introduced in August 2010 ( v2.6.36-rc1~405), and oom_adj was deprecated in the next commit ( v2.6.36-rc1~404).
