Description
I think the best approach is to make a script that creates a Debathena installer LiveCD, so that we can completely automate upgrading to new distributions. We may need to be careful with memory usage.

I've been thinking about creating a Debathena Live CD based on Hardy (I tried once before with the old debian-athena stuff, but never got it working quite right). If no one else is working on this, I'll give it a try.

Nelhage and I got an ISO that basically works done today at the hackathon. It can be downloaded from my public (/mit/xavid/Public/debathena.iso). It's generated by a script run on a normal Hardy Heron iso. The source for the script is in a git in my public: /mit/xavid/Public/git/debathify.git/. Testing/feedback/suggestions welcome.

Source is now canonically in /mit/debathena/git/debathena-live.git/.

I think this is now essentially working. But we should update the debathena website to advertise the live CD/installer setup.

The current CD iso (which is based on Hardy) is in my Public: http://web.mit.edu/xavid/Public/debathena-8.04.1-live-beta3.iso. I don't have bits on the website.
These may be good things to look at for making this easy.
